January 2016 - Chinese New Year and A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Chinese New Year and A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Behind again.  I am just now posting from my January 2016 trip.  I cancelled my December trip when mom became extremely sick.  This was originally going to be a trip for both of us that we booked back in July, and then she wanted me to go by myself, and then...well, she got extremely ill, and I cancelled the trip altogether.  The night we were originally supposed to leave in December was the night she went into the hospital for the last time.

I took this trip in January to get out and try to do something for me.  In the end, I did a lot of things for my mom for the last time: I gambled at some of her favorite machines, visited some of her favorite casinos, and ate at some of her favorite restaurants.

I love you and miss you, mama.  You will always be in my heart and on my mind.

Here is my trip report in photos.

First photo of the trip.
I love coming out of the casino and seeing my favorite things.

Chandelier Bar view at Cosmopolitan

Drinks with Evoni.  I think mine was Lucky Be A Lady.  I can't remember hers.

Me and Evoni Diana.  It was so dark in the lounge that the flash was overwhelming.
It was good to see her again.

A different perspective.

Chinese New Year display at Bellagio's Conservatory

I prefer Conservatory photos at night - the colors are richer.

Not crazy about the monkeys.  They look creepy!

Morning view from my room at Flamingo.
One of my favorite photos from this trip.

They made several passes while filming a commercial for the new Beer Park at Paris.

Coffee custard, chocolate and fruit tart, and bread pudding.

My only win of the trip at Venetian.  Sad, but true...

Storm coming before heading to the airport...

There's the rain!

Rainbow over Vegas as we pull into the airport.

  1. Thank you for your report. I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. You have great memories of her during your trips to Vegas. My mom also loved Vegas and Atlantic City. I never visit those places without thoughts of her and memories we shared.

    1. Isn't that the truth? Our mothers are always with us, everywhere we go. I miss her so much.

  2. Great report with pictures Diane and a great tribute to your Mom. Thanks for posting on your blog. Dmjewel

    1. Thank you, sir! I haven't been going as often as I used to, so I try to make it count.

I welcome your comments on my blog. Please be kind!
